I almost just described myself as “egregious”, when what i was trying to say is that i’m “gregarious”. How did “egregious”, which once meant “distinguished or eminent”, come to now mean “extraordinary in some bad way”?

I mean, what the actual fuck: HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!
